Asiatique in Les Galaries Lafayette
Over the past few weeks, Les Galeries Lafayette has opened her doors to an Asian themed event: Asiatique. This fusion of performance and fashion was staged on a three dimensional stage where 5 shows per day were given, inspired by Asian fashion, culture, and music.

Sure to be the highlight was the massive structure being erected in Galeries Lafayette's world famous cupola, which stood 6 meters off the ground and boasts an additional 6-meter tower atop it. The tower featured 5 platforms in which the dancers populated throughout the 5 shows, using bungee and parkour skills to move amongst the different levels.

The overall programme was designed by Jean-Paul Goude, Abigail Yeates, Artist Director of the Generating Company, designed the choreography and Jean-Marc Hervier was responsible for the styling of the performers.

Rigging Services UK was responsible for the technical design of the platform and catwalk, for which they choose to use Prolyte trussing and Stage DEX.
After thorough structural calculations, to ensure stability and safety of the complete structure, Prolyte used S52SV and H40V truss for the catwalk and multi level platforms. After a successful proof build of the structure, the materials were send to Rigging Services in the UK for further decoration and try out rehearsals.

Following the development from initial design to the final installation in Les Galeries Lafayette, this installation proves to be a fantastic example of cooperation between the creative and technical teams involved.
