New M-Lab opens in Amsterdam

Thanks support from the VandenEnde foundation, a new experimental theatre has opened its doors in Amsterdam.
The M-Lab will act as laboratory for musicals and related types of theatre, such as hip hop musicals, theatre concerts and rock opera.
The M-lab foundation has attracted promising composers, writers, choreographers and directors to perform in this black box type theatre. Among already programmed productions are:
"Into the Woods" by Stephen Sondheim, "Angel" by John Wooter, The Wild Party - Dances, by John Agésilas and Ganesha, by Allard Blom en Rhody Matthijs.

Silk was asked to design and install the technical installation for the M-lab. For this black box theatre Silk designed a fixed grid of Prolyte X30L truss, which accommodates the lighting equipment.
Further a multi purpose tribune from Prolyte Stage DEX elements was installed. This seating area accommodates 150 seats and can be used for other purposes as well.
As Technical Manager Jeroen van Terheijden stated "Our tiered seating area converts easily into a stage floor or a walk-way. The absolute flexibility of this Stage DEX system sure offers added value".
