Presentations at the PALM Mumbai show

29 - 31 May 2014, Bombay Exhibition Center
Goregaon East, Mumbai, Maharashtra

Presentation 1:  goalpost, ground support and roof systems

In a short 30 minutes presentation, participants will be lectured on the safety aspects of building outdoor structures for temporary use. Structures like goal posts, ground support systems and roof systems are all subject to environmental influences like wind and sub surface conditions. The presentation will highlight topics as wind loading, ballast, the use of an inter-connected stage and will give many insights and practical tips to practise safer building.

Presentation 2:  practical use of electrical chain hoists in rental

Chain hoists are key in the entertainment industry, since most temporary structures are suspended from chain hoists, they are a vital link in the safety of the installation. The practical use, handling and maintenance of the hoist will contribute in great extend to this safety, for this reason, it should involve the interest of both the user and the owner. This seminar will give practical tips on how to handle hoists, visual inspection prior to each use, how to run chain and the influence of power supply on the lifetime of a hoist.

Prolyte Campus Live Stage!
Prolyte Group will continue their successful and exhaustive seminar program for the PALM Mumbai on the Prolyte Campus Live Stage. “Bringing knowledge to the people involved with day-to-day practical side of it is our way of contributing to safe working practices and building skills and expertise” As Prolyte spokesmen Marina Prak explains, “This will be the second time for Prolyte - after the successful first series, the organizers have experienced a huge demand to continue this. With the experience and feedback of last year, we know it is a vital contribution to create awareness.”

  • The seminars will be held Live during the show and are free for all visitors. Well-known rigging expert Rinus Bakker will perform these primarily hands–on seminars – using Prolyte equipment, the topics will be:

  • Electrical Chain hoists – basic rules for safe use
  • Outdoor structures – basic rules for setting up safe structures

I started working with an ST roof system back in 2000, it was one of the first ones Prolyte made. I've been using Prolyte ever since
