A true lover of American sports like Baseball and American Football, you can find Akim practising these sports, but also doing what he loves the most: spending time with his wife and four kids.
Whoever knows Akim describe him as a person who loves to innovate and try new things. He’s never afraid of making choices for the good of his company. And after 24 years, he took the decision to sell his company.
When asking Akim about the Blu Heart-er nomination at this special moment he said: “I feel really honored. Just before Christmas, Henk Versteeg and Eric Laanstra told me about the news and all I can say is, in positive contradiction, my heart was filled with blues…”
